The Apple Store in Beijing, China

Fortune, who followed the Apple shareholder meeting today, revealed that Apple plans to add 25 new stores in China over the next two years. There were already rumours that Apple had plans to open 50 stores this year and it appears that half of those will open in China.

It seems that Apple is taking China very seriously lately, especially with handset rival Google in trouble in China after the hacking fiasco.  Although Apple had a slow start with the iPhone in China, they’ve been ramping up efforts there considerably.
