All Facebook and iPhone users, you’ve got reasons aplenty to rejoice as this upgrade brings to you a host of features to explore, which you had previously craved for, along with many bug fixes.
For starters, did you know that there are almost 55 million monthly active iPhone Facebook users? Crazy right? Despite Facebook’s ongoing security concerns, it is heartening to see still so many people use the social network. And if you use it using your iPhone, you just can’t get happier now.
The Facebook App for the iPhone and iPod Touch just upgraded to version 3.1.3 and brings with it a host of new features, including the much awaited ‘Facebook video’ viewing.
Apart from watching Facebook videos on your iPhone, you can view and write on the event walls, upload up to 720px wide photos, and do many more things. There are also tons of bug fixes in this upgrade.
What’s New in Version 3.1.3
New features in this version:
- You can now watch Facebook videos.
- You can now view and write on walls of events.
- Uploaded photos are now 720px wide.
This version contains fixes for the following bugs:
- Could not comment on photos accessed from Notifications
- Could not upload photos smaller than a certain size
- No more than 2 notifications were highlighted as unread
- Status updates appeared out of order in News Feed
- Broken photo album links in News Feed
- Birthdays view had months in wrong order
- Last section of friend list was incomplete if you had fewer than 8 friends
- Notes with non-ASCII text were cut off at the end
This is really a good news for all iPhone users, but there is some bad news as well. This is neither supported by the iPad nor by iOS4.
Download the app from this Facebook iTunes link (or go to ‘updates’ if you already have the app).
